Am i crazy?

I started paying close attention to my chickens' legs tonight, for whatever reason, and i noticed that my RIR (hatchery grade) whose legs used to be yellow, are now more of a white, pretty much matching the BO legs. They're all close to a year old. So i'm wondering if they start to lose leg color when they're getting ready to molt????

I looked around a lot and noticed that the younger (POL) girls still have a nice yellow paint on their legs.

What's happening? I'm confused.

Yep, all the yellow pigment goes into the egg yolks instead of their legs.

Then how do you explain the rooster's pale legs? Where is his going?

Hmm, too much sunbathing? Maybe they get bleached pale.
