Chicks first night in their coop they are 9 weeks old. Was thinking about running to the store real fast and grabbing one of those you can stick on the ceiling, put the light bulb in, and they are battery powered.

They'll be fine in the dark - they'll just go to sleep. Plus they won't pick at each other in the dark.

Almost 10 hours later now. How did they make it through their first night? I'm sure they were fine. I think everyone worries with their first group.

a light in the coop will only make them over eat and stay awake...

they will just huddle together and sleep [IMG]

I have never added extra light for my birds. I think it's important that they have a cycle of day/night. How did they do? the first few days are always an adjustment for everyone but usually all is fine.
