Do they still need chick grit?

Hello,
My chicks are about 6 weeks old. We still have them in a large brooder in the garage, while we are building their coop. For the last several weeks we have been giving them treats of mealworms, occasional yogurt and some veggies scraps. I have a bowl of chick grit in their brooder.

Starting last week, I try to get them out to the garden on a daily basis for them to explore, dig and peck around.

I am wondering if I still need to provide chick grit to them since they are "free ranging" for a few hours a day. Are they getting all the "grit" they need while outside?

THANKS

Most likely they are getting their grit outside but so long as you still have some of that chick grit it harms nothing to continue offering it. They'll only eat it if they need it.
