Just wondering if i'm supposed to candle my eggs before I put them in the incubator or wait to candle till after they've been incubating for the first week?

10 days after being laid or after being in the incubator?

I always candle mine before putting them in the incubator.. gives me the chance to spot any hairline cracks.. then again at day 10.. and at day 18 just before lockdown.

I'm new, but I candled before to spot any small cracks. We practiced on supermarket eggs, and go figure, they had a ton of cracks not visible without the light.

I have candled before I put the eggs in the incubator to look fro cracks that may not be obvious. I have also hatched an cracked egg that I discovered when I did my first candle of a hatch at day 10. The crack wasn't obvious so that is when I stated to candle before I put the eggs in the incubator. I usually candle at day 18 too when I set the eggs for hatching.
