Do you have a plucker?

We are looking at building a plucker for our chickens and turkeys come fall. While chikens should be easy to build a plucker for, turkeys are looking like an issue. Our giant white is massive. We estimate he'll get to 50lbs by plucking time. So who has a plucker and does it work for both your chickens and turkeys??

I used a borrowed chicken plucker last fall on my turkeys and i found that the plucker did the job but needed to be bigger and the birds were not 50 lbs.
The biggest were in the 20ish lb range.
So I think a normal chicken plucker will not work on a bird that big.

isnt there some kind of a drill attachment that will pluck them? so you can scald -> then hand -> then pluck?

How many will you do at a time? Plucking one by hand isn't too bad.

I'm looking into those drill-attachments myself.

We have 15. Probably keep 3 alive so that's 12. lol

This one on Amazon is what I've been looking at.

Yeah, plucking 12 would be a day's work!

Mine too. I was having coffee with some "old guys" one morning and one of the guys said that so-and-so got his wife a plucker for their anniversary and boy was she mad. I said, "that would be awesome, best anniversary gift ever!"
