I live in Florida and I have no plans on getting a emu right away. Even though the idea of getting one is very exciting! [IMG] Someone told me the other day you had to have a permit just to own one! [IMG] Really? Anyone know the answer to that?

No, you don't need a permit here in Florida as far as I know. When my friend had her license done for pheasant, quail etc.. by the State a few months ago she asked about Emu, they said no, you don't need one.

In the State of FL you are required to get a permit for pheasant, some quail , certain waterfowl/ ducks etc.. through the Dept of Fish & Game.
