Do you need to supply a poultry bath with poultry dust for your chickens?

I don't, I've actually never heard of doing that for chickens before. If they have a run they can take their own dust baths. So, no, I don't think it is necessary. Someone else might have a reason why they should, but I don't really see why they NEED one.

They make their own; if you try to keep your yard by doing this they may either ignore it and still make their own or it will not be enough for everyone and again, make their own. But, If you keep them in a coop all the time they will need something like that to dust in.

What if you have a yard that's not even remotely on the dusty side? Mine is damp always - marshy in places but even on the high ground, while it's not spongy it almost never needs water. I don't really care about saving the lawn I just want to make sure the chickens are happy. I'm not sure they could make "dust" from what's around.
