Do your chickens peck at your shoes and clothes?

Just curious about this behavior, which is fairly new. When I go into the run to clean up, visit my girls or whatever, the chickens flock around me, and peck at my clothes and even shoes. They'll stand on my feet to get at my pants. No harm to me, but I'm curious- is this typical behavior?

Yes, they're "feeling" you. Their beak is their hands, and you're full of weird textures and tastes.

Today I wore my hoody up and it is pink. My cockerel pecked at it when I was bent down to look at my new pullet who is in a crate. He wasn't doing it to be aggressive, but was interested. Plus, I shouldn't have worn a pink hoody without paying attention to where he was - it was very close in color to the hens combs.

You need to do your profile! I always thought you were a fella.Guess you still could be one with pretty toes. Either way, lol! Chickens and polish don't mix along with any jewelery and even false eyelashes are game.

Yes. They are especially fond of my polka dot PJs, shirts with buttons, they love wiping their beaks on my pants - usually when eating porridge or yogurt - and do like earrings, glasses and my crocs.....
