Does all grit contain charcoal?

Yesterday I bought canary/finch grit because it was the smallest. Our chicks are 10 days old. I noticed in reading the back of the box that it contains charcoal. It says "contains charcoal to combat hyperacidity and sweeten the stomach" does this apply to baby chicks ??WILL THIS HURT MY CHICKS???

I wouldn't use it..... but thats just my opinion.

I would throw it out and find a place that had pure crushed granite grit.

No. I've bought grit that is simply crushed granite, nothing else. I don't know which is more common, but the plain stuff is out there!

It is ok to use. If you buy nutri sources chick grit it contains charcoal.
