I was just wondering if anybody else here makes pine needle baskets? I would love to see some of your projects.
Here is one that I made for my mom a few years ago:

Gorgeous work, Peewee! I use to dabble in small baskets YEARS ago, but nothing as beautiful as yours.

Are those really made out of pine needles, or are they just called that?

Wow, I have made baskets before, but never with pine needles. Where can I find instructions?

Beautiful work! I made a few way back in the '70's, but none as nice as yours!

And Marie66, the closest pines to you are Bastrop State Park, and I think it's the wrong kind of pine. You might be able to get a bale of "imported" pine straw at a garden center.

I haven't but maybe I should start. Have enough pine straw in my yard to make probably a hundred baskets. [IMG] After all they don't call it the Pineland of NJ for nothing. The baskets are really beautiful though and it may be worth trying this out. [IMG]
