It's very popular around here to take this for human consumption and I've seen the bags at the feed store, but can't seem to find any info on use with poultry. Anyone have any experience with this? I've been adding a little to my chickens food once in a while this Winter and haven't noticed anything bad. No sickness, so that's good. But I wonder what it actually does for them? I don't use any other vitamins or supplements. Any input would be great. Thanks! [IMG]

It's actually produced at a factory nearby, Diamond V. There's a formula for animals and one sold for humans. The chickens seem to like a sprinkle of it on their food.

This is what they say about their own product:

This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.

I wouldn't waste my money on it

Does the label have more details on what exactly is in it? I thought the web site was a little vague.

    Ingredients:

    EpiCor Dried Yeast Fermentate 500mg

Other Ingredients: Vegetable Capsule, Silicon Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate (Vegetable Source)

    http://www.suppsearch.com/ingredients.php?id=epicor-4279

Silicon Dioxide: It is composed of one atom of silicon and two atoms of oxygen. It mostly forms in nature as sand or quartz crystals, and it is renowned for its hardness

    (in other words, DIRT)

    http://www.ehow.com/about_4600805_what-silicon-dioxide.html

Magnesium Stearate : These stearates, made by hydrogenating cottonseed or palm oil, are used throughout the supplements industry as lubricants. They are added to the raw materials in supplements so that production machinery will run at maximum speeds. These fatty substances coat every particle of the nutrients, so the particles will flow rapidly. This ensures that production schedules will meet profit targets

( In other words, useless FAT)

Dried Yeast Fermentate : What other names is Brewer's Yeast known by?
    Baker's Yeast, Dried Yeast Fermentate
Brewer's yeast is a microscopic plant that is a by-product of brewing beer

So in essence, it's dirty, greasy left over yeast
