Your best bet will either be a vet with an avian practice, that treats pet birds or possibly a rural vet that treats livestock.

If you don't get an answer here, try calling vets listed in your phone book. If they don't treat birds, ask them if they know who does. You can often get a referral. You could also try asking any of the places that sell chicken feed in your area, if they know anyone who treats chickens. If you have a local bird club, for parrots or poultry, you could also ask them.

Good luck! I hope it's nothing serious.

Is your need for a vet urgent? If it's not, try getting a copy of "The Chicken Health Handbook" by Gail Damerow. It's an EXCELLENT book that talks about chicken diseases etc and how to cure them. If you have a copy of that book ( or live near a library with a copy) having a vet for your chickens isn't so crucial.

An exotic pet vet might treat your bird too or a wildlife center.

yeah, i found my vet through the yellowpages.
just look for places that say they treat exotic pets, and then call them and ask.

What part of the state are you in? I use a vet in Poultney, VT. Its a little more than an hours drive north of the MA/VT/NY border.
