I have 9 hens and I have seen them all in nest boxes except this one. By process of elimination I think she lays a dark green/slightly olive egg which makes me think she is a mix. She is black with blue opalecent color the feathers and black legs. Black and white neck and white ear. The last picture is when she was a pullet. If you google blue birchen marans there are pics of chickens that look like her but seems like they are dark brown egg layers. I think she lays at night or at the crack of dawn so I can never catch her. The mystery continues

I don't know, but I have one that looks about like it. I think it has some Australorpe in it and maybe some wynadotte. Idunno, though. She runs my roost, though. Nice chicken, goes broody on occasion. This is when I first got her last Spring. She looked rough, was kept in a small pen and not cared for well. Alos think she was kind of young. She's fine now. An egg every day or so.

She is likely a mixed breed.

    What country are you in?

In USA, a majority of birds laying blue/green eggs have pea combs. your hen has a single comb. It would be a fair bit of surprise if she really does lay colored egg. If you have been getting either tan or brown eggs with no sure ID of who laid it and your other hens have pea combs, would figure those eggs are this hen's

Definitely not laying a brown egg. She lays a light green matte egg
