Yesterday I noticed my black hen's comb wasn't as red as the other chickens. She's about 8 months old, I'd guess. They just started laying in the last two weeks. When she was little her comb was nearly black. As of last November I have a pic where it was still gray. Will it eventually turn all red? I want to be sure how she should look, so I can keep an eye out for problems. FWIW, shes a mix. Not sure of what. Her legs are black.
