Leroy Brown is our Alpha male. He was the first to crow and the first to try to mount a hen, both at the ripe old age of nine weeks. We know he's a boy. Our other buff orp, aka Leroy's Brother Or Sister, we're not so sure about. It looks a lot like Leroy, but is slightly smaller and has a pinker comb. It hasn't crowed yet, but its legs are every bit as thick (if not thicker) than Leroy's. The physical differences between them are not nearly as distinct as they are, say, with the Barred Rocks or RI Reds. In terms of behavior, I haven't seen LBOS go after any of the girls yet, but it did get a little assertive with me one day. Here they are at 18 weeks - first Leroy Brown, then 2 pics of LBOS. What do you think - pullet or late-bloomer?
