Help!! We adopted this lady about 3 months ago and from the start she didnt have any interest to roam in the garden like other ladies and she very didnt move around if its not necessary and looked a bit depressed. We noticed she didnt take care of her rear feathers and that they were poopy from diarrhea(watery, clear or brown or sometimes normal poop changes always) We took her to a cat/dog specialized veterinary and she said nothing is wrong with her without any examination done. So we took her home back and hoped that all blame is on her age. Today we noticed a big lump on her inner upper leg and that scared the s out of us. Furthermore it has dark skin patch on it. It seems she didnt move like other hens due to lump/tumor/cyst that she is in pain. We have no access to any veterinary that has avian experience or knowledge and other vets i asked refused to take her seriously. Chicken lives matter. I am quite hopeless. Please does anyone saw anything like that. Should we put her down or wait until we have a chance to get her to another vet (until nxt month if she survives). Last Photo is her lump free leg for referance

Welcome to BYC. That does look like cancer. :( Can you get a baseline weight on her and start weighing her every few days to see if she is losing weight?
unfortunately no:( I am going to start weigh her. But since i got her i didn’t notice any changes in weight. Thank you so much

Oh no nooo. Are there any cure for these malignancies. Can chicken live with amputation?
Chickens very rarely do well with amputations and tend to have a lot less function compared to other animals since they always require a prosthetic. Losing a leg is a lot tougher if you only have 2 instead of 4. If it’s affecting her behavior and based on the tumor size I would imagine it’s probably spread already which would make an amputation pointless.
You all you can really do treatment wise (that I know of) would be to try giving her aspirin for pain relief until she passes.
