Is this Bumble Foot and if so how bad is it and what should i do ?????
What does the bottom of the foot look like? The space in between the toes appears to be bumblefoot. Soaking in epsom salts, Tricide Neo, and betadine are used, as well as Procaine Penicillin G shots by some. The surgery is a fairly common procedure. Here is a good link to read: including a video: http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/07/bumblefoot-causes-treatment-warning.html
I didn't look at the bottom of her feet i'll have to check tomorrow. I'm not sure if i could do the surgery. As to i'm not really sure of really what to do and look for although the website if very helpful i'm not sure if i could handle doing the surgery. Could there be a medicine i can give her in her feed or maybe a shot of antibiotics??
If a vet is a possibility they can do it, or if you have a friend who is a nurse or EMT, they may have the know how to do it. Watch as many videos as you can, and read as much by doing a search on BYC at the top of the page. Seek out another chicken owner--most people who have chickens know about doing the surgery. You can try conservative treatments like daily soaking first--there is usually not a big hurry unless you see an abscess forming--then it should be drained. There are all kinds of opinions on treating it--just do some reading. More links to read:
