This is "chick" about 7-9 weeks old. Does it look like hen or roo?
Definitely a cockerel. Sorry. (
I respect the previous posters' thoughts on gender, but I just don't see a definite cockerel. The comb and wattles are not abnormally large or red for this age, and I don't see any pointed saddle/hackle feathers. Right now, I'm thinking pullet.
I agree. I would expect a redder face if it was a cockerel.
Did it end up being a cockerel? That would be my guess from the hairdo.
She's a hen. She was the last of the group to lay but she definitely a lady. Funny thing, she is as loud as a rooster I think.
Polish pullets usually have a more uniformly rounded crest.
Thanks for letting me know though.
All of my buff laced polish hens have that crazy hairdo, the white crested have a more controlled style.
Here is a more current photo of her.
