I've had several hatches over the last 6 months and have hatched out 9 BR chicks.
Out of those 9 chicks, 8 were cockerals!

What is this, did somebody curse me to be king of rooster hatching?

Anybody need a nice BR cockeral or 2?

That means your BR hen or hens are throwing cockerels. The female determines sex of the chicks. You need a new hen, LOL.

Oh, my. I hope that doesn't happen to us! We have 9 brand new chicks, two older...I'm sure one of the older ones is a roo and I was positive he/she was a hen earlier.....

I have had about 90% (or more) of the chickens that I have hatched, bought and sold end up being pullets this year. Actually, even the rabbits were all girls that were born! (Watch this new batch be all boys now that I say that! hehe)

No clue what was going on, but we were a girlie household this year.
