I have a 4 day old Black Australorp chick that seems very active and healthy but after she walks around for a bit she always sits down on her hocks. She can stand up just fine (even on slippery surfaces) and can run good (and fast) but when she stops she always sinks down onto her hocks. Then she usually leans over to one side and lets one foot kind of stick out underneath her. Her legs do not stick out to the sides like the pics I've seen of spraddle leg. I thought maybe she was just kind of weak, so I've been taking her out to have her walk or run a few feet every couple of hours. I don't know if that is helping or not. She can get up just fine and walk to the food and water but she prefers to just sit on her hocks. Does this sound at all like spraddle leg or anything else you guys are familiar with? Any feedback is appreciated!! Thanks.
