I have a female Airdale terrier who has had a lot of puppies so she still has the mothering instinct. Anyways, i had a lost duckling stuck in some weeds, the dog was out there with me and when I told her to go get the duckling, she ran in picked it up in her mouth came out and put it in my hand unharmed. I have never seen something like this before, usually dogs would eat them, but i guess not always. Another thing she does is stay out with my birds every night and watches them. Almost every night she will catch a predator too.
