I recently had a dog attack. Nine of my 15 hens were killed and a couple of the surviving hens are wounded but look like they will pull through. It's been just over two weeks. My hens were in their prime. Since the incident, I have had no eggs. Not one. I'm wondering what to expect regarding my egg production. Does it just stop for a while and it will come back?

The hens are still mostly afraid to come out of the hen house.

The dog situation has been remedied. That is not going to happen again.

Sorry for your loss. When there's been a traumatic incident it's not surprising for egg production to stop. There's no way to tell how long it will be. I had a coyote kill one of my ladies last summer just as some of them were starting to lay. I had soft shell/ shell-less eggs / no eggs for a couple weeks before they calmed down and started laying again. I would just keep doing what you're doing and they'll come out when they're ready and start laying when they're ready. There's really nothing you can do except wait for them to recover. Good luck with everything.
