I know that navigating BYC can seem a little daunting at first, but don't worry - your posting in the New Members forum is perfectly fine. A major part of our role is to help new members begin to find their way around the site. I just hope that the ER peeps can help you out.

The easiest way to get around is via the search box above. For instance put "emergency thread." in the box and it will pop up.

Hello and oh no poor duck and poor you! Our neighbours dog bit a chunk out of one of our beautiful hens last year. I totally thought she was a gonner but vet advised us to wash her daily in an antibacterial antibiotic wash and to dress the wound with manuka honey which we did religiously for over a week until the scab came off. Good luck

G’Day from down under Phoebe [IMG] Welcome!

Sorry to hear about your duck. I do hope the folks on the ER Forum were able to help and that he makes a full recovery.

I also hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out [IMG]
