Looking for opinions and suggestions.
We have the opportunity to try and adopt either a 3yr old bloodhound or an elderly basset hound mix.
We live on 2 acres of unfenced land and have access to 94 acres of land. There are 25 chickens on the property.
In the house we have 5 cats, a rabbit and a small chicken. Our daughter is 12.
Do you think that either of these dogs would be ok w/a rabbit or a chicken? I know the dogs grew up in a house w/cats but I don't know if either was used as a hunting dog.
I would love to adopt one of these dogs but I know they are typically hunting dogs. I also know that there may be people out there that could provide better for them. I want to make sure these dogs get a good home whether it's w/me or someone else.
If anyone has real interest in these dogs and lives in NE Ohio, I'd be glad to share w/you the information on how to adopt them and the little family history I know.
