Dog Flea Shampoo to treat Mites/Lice?

    Does anyone know if you can treat mites /lice in chickens with dog flea shampoo?

    It would really depend on what ingredients/chemicals are in the shampoo. Shampoo may be too harsh to use on chickens and strip the oils on the chickens feathers and/or cause irritation to the skin.

    Poultry dust, pyrethrin powders, etc may be better to use. You can find it at TSC or your local feed stor.
    Provide a dry dust bathing area for your birds to use, clean out and treat your coop. Generally treatment will need to be repeated a couple of times every 7 days.
