At one time we had 5 dogs - 3 went to doggie heaven, one roaming beagle went roaming. That leaves us with one but he does not go into a cage at night. We had 2 10x10 cages that were used for the 4 dogs that are now gone. I had wanted chickens since we moved to the country so my mind starting spinning on how I could re-use. Here it is in progress.
DH built the table/platform for me in one of the cages.

I painted the table and tiled it. Later, when it cools off a bit a real coop will be built on there - I hope. Lol In the mean time this is what my 3 peeps live in. The floor of the pen on the left is patio pavers with 3" of sand. The right side is a concrete pad. I tried to decorate it a bit. The pen on the left had a door in front like the one on the right. I switched that gate wall with the one the was the common wall between the two. Now I can enter the right side and close the sand side off at night.

Right now this is where they sleep at night. I put vents on the igloos and place a place for them to roost. They seem comfy cozy in there at night.

The second igloo will be for nesting boxes when my girls grow up. They are just checking it out for now.

Hope you enjoy my pix. Let me know what you think.[IMG]

Nicely done;) I love that you recycled items that you already had; dog runs, igloos etc. What a great shady little spot for them too!

I used a large dog igloo for several months for my LF until a larger structure was built. I loved it and am hoping to find another dog igloo to recycle into a bantam chicken coop. Your set up is so cute - and safe! Good job![IMG]

Nobody can fuss about lack of ventilation for sure. That will work till it snows.[IMG] Then it still might work, cute birds.
