Can I put chickens in a dog house until I get a real hen house?
Sure ... but, it will need the usual nest box(s)(if you have hens), roost, good ventilation and light and it needs to be secure so predators can't into it at night.
How many chickens do you have? You should figure 4 sq. feet per chicken (standard size) and most dog houses are pretty small so take that under consideration. If it's really a short term solution and they have access to a large run or free ranging every day then you could get by with less than that sq. footage for a little while.
I've heard of some people making their main hen house out of a dog house when they only had two or three chickens.
