Dogs Eating Chicken Poop..Any deterent?

I saw on a dog show that you should feed the dogs garlic because it makes their poo too nasty for them to eat (yes, some dogs eat their own poo.) I'll bet the same thing would work for chickens, and garlic is GOOD for them!

Dogs can get some icky infections from eating chicken poo. I keep telling them this, but they are ignoring me!

In fact, my "sensitive stomach" dog has gotten diarrhea twice now which I can directly link to an excess of chicken poo foraging!

I decided to simply deworm my dogs 3x a year (in the rainy season, which is like nine months here in the Pacific NW, the chicken poo gets melted into the lawn pretty quickly so it is not as much of a problem as in the summer). I keep a close eye on diarrhea which lasts more then a day, since any poultry can harbor sub-clinical Salmonella bacteria which can become a very dangerous infection in a short period of time. I also really keep them out of the coop, where the poo is concentrated.
