This is Shorty in her swimming pool, had to teach her how to get in it, made her a step. I think she is lonely,maybe misses Rocky, she is not sitting on her eggs and I feel awful

She is sitting on her eggs on the backporch, she did not like the kennel or cage so I made her a bed and I brought her in from her pool and it took about a hr to dry off and now she is back on her eggs,..yeah

Please don’t feel bad, you’ve saved her life weather or not she hatches anything. If she doesn’t hatch anything she’ll definitely appreciate a new duck friend. Thanks for helping her out so much!

yes you saved one now go find her a girl friend to save. And very happy she looks so content in the pool and yay for getting back on her eggs. How is she doing this morning?

She is still sitting on them but I put the infertile and questionable ones just in case she wouldn't go back to them and the possible ones are under the light. Now question is should I put the good ones under her or leave it like it is. Will she bond with them if they are not born while with her?

Since you are just using a heat lamp, I’d give the real ones back to her after dark. Just swap them out.
She would likely still take the babies if you hatched them, but honestly, I think she has a better shot of maintaining proper hatching conditions.
