Ok, I'd like some input on this photo, which is from 1915 (and which I am using as a greeting card image):

Doms, or BRS?

Thanks!

Laura

(Edited to add that for some reason I can import the image I'd like you all to weigh in on. Weird. No "bar" is showing up with the option to add photos or format anything.)

Laura that period, as you know, was the formational period for the Barred Rock. A bunch of country people didn't yet make the distinction between the two breeds.

Given their type and the straight line of the barring, I'd go out on a limb and say Rocks. Cannot see the combs, of course, in a photo such as that. To me? That photo is priceless.

Isn't he wonderful? I have the original, and many more like it. I use vintage images like this from ephemera (antique postcards, trade cards, and photos) to make greeting cards and fabric blocks and prints and so on, which I sell.

Not meaning to be an ad, just wanted to make sure I got the breed right when I list it in my stores.

Thanks!

L

p.s. See this little cutie, who definitely has a Dom:
