Is there such a thing as papers for chickens, like with dogs, cats, and horses? to prove the breed?
I was just going to ask the same thing!!! I went to the local farmer's market today and came home with a 2 day old partridge silkie bantam that was in a bin labeled 'Show Quality Silkies'
OMG....this little chicky is too cute!
When I came home and proudly announced to DH "That one" I pointed, "is a Show Quality Silkie Bantam!!" He asked, "Really? Where's it's papers?"
Well, I didn't ask about papers....and the seller didn't offer up any, so....Hope someone answers this question!!
lol at least I don't feel alone
Yeah, I'm NOT laughing!! But my DH is I have had a severe case of Chicken Math, My limit originally was 10......the 6 new today put me 12 over.....
Now he wants PAPERS?
I WANT TO KNOW TOO! CAUSE I WANNA SHOW CHICKENS!
I think their is, but im not sure
Here is the one that he wants papers for...LOL
I hope someone answers your question!!
I've never heard of a chicken registry, so getting "papers" is not possible. Show quality would mean that they are the type that might do well at a show. These birds should absent of DQ"s of their breed.
What is DQ's?
Disqualifications (i think)
