One of my one year old New Hampshire x leghorns has looked sick on several occasions, always in the morning. She won't eat or drink, doesn't want to move, open beak, droopy tail. She has stopped laying. The symptoms are not every morning, and clear up in a few hours. The hens recently had mites and the symptoms started around the same time, but did not go away when I treated the mites. I also introduced new younger hens to the flock at around the same time (so now have 3 1 year olds and 2 x 20 week olds). None of the other hens have symptoms. It almost seems as if she is just very tired in the mornings and may not be sleeping well. Can anyone shed any light?

Update on this: I think she had fowl pox. Several lesions came up on her comb and eye. A few days later the other hens came up in a similar rash, but none of them had any other symptoms. She is fully recovered now.
