double yolk

    does anyone know if a chicken that lays a double yolk ,will always lay a double. I thought I read that some where.

    Boo! but thanks for your answer. my new hampshire 1st egg was a double I was hoping that she would always lay doubles.

    My Red Start first laid a double, but subsequently has laid singles...

    I'll get one every now and then from my hen who's known for it but they are never consistant double yokers. Just enjoy them when you get them!!

    you usually get double yolks when they first start laying? My Freedom rangers first 3 eggs were double yolks, now they are normal. Now my EE will surpirse me with nice big doubles from time to time.

    well that would explain it it was the first egg it was huge 65grams
