    Hi Backyard Chicken Enthusiasts,

I am planning on building a new chicken coop and before doing so, would love to hear feedback from current coop owners on features they like or dislike about their current coops. If they could build their dream coop, what features would they most like to have?

    Many thanks!

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan [IMG]

Browsing through the coop section would be helpful to you, many people discuss the pros and cons of the coops they have.

  9. Welcome to BYC. My one piece of advice is build it WAY bigger than you think you need. A coop that is too small is hard to fix.

This is my chicken shed. It's over a foot off the gound, don't even know how tall but it's super tall. The floor is 6'x8'. I'm in the country and didn't need to spend extra money making something that was "pretty". But there are some gorgeous coops out there but I'm happy with mine. My poop door is the biggest pain in the arse and I hate hate hate it. It's a window turned on it's side. It holds water and poop and bedding and in order to close and lock the door every night I have to use my fingers and dig all the nasty stuff out. [IMG] I don't know what the heck to do with it.

    Welcome to the site!
