Ok, I think maybe I convinced to help build me a duck house with our left over garage materials (wood, brick, shingles).
I still haven't figured out the best way, for me, to build it though.
What I know I want:
bigger than current house to add a few more
easy to clean/hose out daily
attached covered place for food water
access to that water (maybe food, but mainly the water) at night, but not have it IN the house... or maybe a way to have water in their house where it doesn't make a mess of everything in there
Maybes:
Attached secure smallish run so they are still confined, but can at least get out and eat/drink if I'm able to sleep in and just don't want to get up yet
DH took a few days off this week and my subbing job (that has been daily since late June) goes full time starting tomorrow. So maybe he can get started while I'm at work - though he is home for other projects (driveway rock and power to the duck pond.
