Dropping or pecking?

My one chicken's eggs keep ending up like this. Is she pecking them, or dropping them to hard? They're not all like this.

Guessing pecked .... I would think if it was "dropped" it would "shatter". It's the wide end that comes out first, are they always the wide end?

What are the nest boxes like and what's used as bedding?
Could be either.
Is shell very thin there?
Are the nests well bedded, so eggs don't hit anything with a sharp edge when they drop?
I don't think that it's thinner there. But we started giving her oyster shells.
The nesting boxes are pretty simple, but she chooses not to lay in them most of the time.

We bed it with straw, but her and her partners in crime enjoy kicking it out.
