Dry chicken skin?

At least 2 of my chickens have dry skin. I have 4 ex bats-about 19 months old. I have checked their feathers and there is no sign of mites or lice ect.... I haven't had any 'symptoms' as such of mites or lice myself and I handle them a fair bit. There is just lots of dry flaky skin! I also never see them scratching themselves, just occasionally preening or shaking feathers if wet! Is this something to be concerned about?

Hi, could you post up some pics of the dry skin? Is it on their feet/legs?- If so then you could try spraying some olive oil or Vaseline on them.

I’m out at the moment, but no, it appears to only be on their backs or under feathers, not so much on their bellies. Will share an image later!

It is molting season; it’s normal to see some dry skin as feathers fall out and grow back in. As long as their not obsessively scratching, I wouldn’t worry about it.
