Dual-purpose owners in the city?

Most of the meat bird people appear to be on farms and have a LOT of chickens.

Are there any city folk here who raise dual-purpose and eat their birds at some point?

I keep both kinds.....but mostly pullets and hens. If I do have roos, they will get up to that point they will start crowing, I try to butcher them or if they got protentional, they will go to a good home.

If I was to keep roos, I will hatch some out in June, July and by the time fall rolls around, city folks shut up their windows, I would keep them until they are ready to breed for a short time with the girls....and hatch out some eggs until late spring once again, folks open up their windows. We live near the hospital and busy intersection so sirens are so common place along with excessive barking of dogs.

Had to butcher a few of my Blue Orp roos, could not keep them all! They were good eating!
