So, last spring I had a duck sitting on some eggs, but she left the nest after only three hatched, I think there were 9 eggs all together and I think only 3 were "duds" and the other 3 were half hatched but the babies had frozen to death (Im guessing they froze because it was a chilly morning) anyway what would make her leave her other babies before they hatched? I'm asking because she's sitting on a nest again this year and I'm worried she'll take off again before they all hatch....(oh, and we didn't mess with her before or during the hatch)
