duck and goose pen with a living roof

    I just thought you guys might like to see the living roof I just completed on my goose and duck house! now hopefully I can figure out how to post pics! I used about 20 ajuga, 6 japanese toad lilies, 2 jacob's ladder and one of these had a few lily of the valley in the pot too! because the roof faces north and the coop is shaded by a spruce tree I had to choose plants that like shade!
    the first pic is a japanese toad lily
    second pic is of the MANY layers of plastic I used
    the third pic is showing the spacing of the plants
    and the final is the completed planting.
    I used our soilless planting mix we use here at our perennial farm... its lighter so the weight on the roof isnt too much!
