I have a call duck that was attacked by my 20190710_174416.jpg 20190710_174416.jpg 20190710_174433.jpg 20190710_174416.jpg 20190710_174433.jpg 20190710_180234.jpg dog. I didn't realize it until probably 3 hours after it occurred. I saw the dog chasing the ducks and called him in then noticed this guys' injuries a couple hours later. He was acting fine with the group, but I caught him and brought him in and checked him over and noticed his feathers were torn out from his tail and his wing. I brought him inside, gave him a clean place to stay alone to relax. He seems to be doing well, but I'm afraid his oil gland has been destructed. He acts fine, just a little scared, and I can't afford all of the stuff I've read in other threads to treat him with right now. Please let me know what you think I can and should do.

They have remarkable recovery powers. I hope it will be ok. I think a little alone time to get over the trauma, and a little triple antibiotic ointment may be all that’s needed.

I have no idea about the oil gland though, if it was affected. @Pyxis might have some ideas too.
