Hi there! Hope everyone is having a nice day. I was wondering what you all use for bedding in your coops. Currently I am using hay but I have found when I go to let the ducks out in the morning all the hay is moved to the sides of the coop and they are sitting (rather happily) on the vinyl floor. Wasn't sure if any of you experienced this, maybe I just have an interior decorator on my hands lol

Shavings are what i use here, i have rubber stall mats down in my big duck barn.

I used to use straw, but that gets super-messy and has to be changed every few days. Shavings are great but too expensive. I put sand in a few months ago. It's just like having kitty litter.

I use aspen shavings, suppose to be for horse stalls but works great for ducks. 10cu ft for under 6 bucks. I always find damaged ones and get half off. so 3 dollars, can't beat that ! I turn the bedding daily and completely change it every week and a half to two weeks
