Duck Breeds / Mallard

We have a young female Mallard hatched last September. We want to get her a friend to swim with next month because she's lonely with just chickens.

I don't know much about duck breeds. We don't want ducklings. Are there ducks that can be sexed at a young age? Are there any that don't breed with Mallards? She's a small Mallard, so I'd like to get a duckling that will be of compatible size. Any ideas?

All domestic duck breeds will with mallards. You might find a local breeder that can sell you a sexed female duckling.
