:hmm we recently started our first journey raising baby ducks. My sister and I have noticed some things we don't quite know what's going on and if it is normal or should be a concern. We got 3 ducklings and 2 of them are acting, what we think, is weird but aren't sure.
The first one, Greg, he seems to be having seizure - like episodes are night when he's trying to sleep. He will suddenly roll on his back, straightening his legs out completely, and stiffening up his whole body until he's picked up and basically revived.
The second one, Buddy, he seems super tired, lethargic, unbalanced and wobbly when he walks, and now he seems to be having trouble keeping his head up. Any one know anything about either? I can try elaborating further if need be. :fl

G’Day from down under Autumn B :frow Welcome!

Sorry I know nothing about ducks but I can hopefully point you in the direction for assistance.

BYC has a Duck Forum where you could try asking. Or, if you are concerned about their chances of survival, post on the Emergencies / Diseases / Injuries and Cures forum.

Best wishes to you and your ducklings!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

BYC has a Learning Centre and also Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. There are some down the bottom on the page which are duck specific, including:
Topic of the Week - Raising and Caring for Ducklings

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your ducklings, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Sounds like dehydrated ducklings. Try mixing sugar in their water. 1 tbs per quart.
What are you feeding them?
As for the falling back and stretching and stiffening sounds like a ducklings getting comfy. Mine do it all the time. I have adults who like to sleep on their backs all stretched out.
What does their poop look like?
Where did you buy your ducklings from?

Thanks @Teila for the links. That will be very helpful.
And @Nyla we've kept their water full and that seem to drink all the time, but again this is my first time so it's possible they aren't drinking enough. And ducks really just sprawl out on their backs like that? Lol I'll have to catch it on camera next time to see if it's the same thing just to be safe. My lil sister is just all freaked out about it. Their poop seems to change frequently, because sometimes it'll be a lil pudding drop and sometimes its almost entirely water.
