My ducks have just begun to lay eggs and their first attempt are smaller than usual and they are grey, are they ok to eat?

We're glad to have you.

Yes, the eggs are fine to eat, even though they're small. Birds new to laying will often lay smaller eggs.

Thank you, however they are also gray. We have one black and one blue runner, do they each lay a different colored egg like different breeds of chickens?

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about ducks (although I've had a few), but I have to admit that ducklings are the ultimate in cute. X4 on the duck section where our duck experts reside. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your ducks.
