Duck harness from dog/cat?

Was wondering if I could use an adjustable dog/cat harness with the soft mesh straps for ducks??
Definitely want mine to adjust to it as youngsters and want to try to avoid purchasing specialty harnesses until they are full grown. Suggestions?

Do you have the harness already?
If so try it on the duck and see if it works.

I do not have it yet! I was hoping someone would have tried it and could help guide me with any advice. I don't really see where it could go wrong but I'm a rookie.
