I put the eggs in lock down around 1 am friday morning. They are due to hatch tomorrow. I walked by and checked the eggs this afternoon and here is a little duckling zipped out and a wing sticking out of his shell. I watched him a few minutes and he seemed in distress. I quickly reached in and took him out of the bator and looked. The membrane was shrink wrapped around his little body. So against better judgement I helped the guy out and gently removed the egg shell and membrane stuck to him. He was trailing an umbilical and I guess egg yolk? Now hes laying in the bator it fell off and he seems unable to lift his head. Now I have no idea if this is normal or if he is considered a premie?
