On Tuesday May 3rd, our duck egg that we have been incubating pipped around 7:30. Our hatch dates for the ducks were for May 5th and we were excited to have a baby duck. However, 48 hours later, the duck did not make any progress and we decided it was for the best to assist her hatch. In the past we have had issues with incubation and our eggs shrink wrapping and this was no exception. We removed the membrane from the baby and she is doing okay. However, we are very worried because she is very lethargic, not moving a lot and shes not chirping a lot either. We also were wondering what to do with the umbilical cord. We left it attached to her and part of the egg for now because we didn't know what to do. Should we leave it on or cut it? Should we give the duck water or let her rest for now?
