OK, I am new to Ancona Ducks colors in a sense. I have always had blacks, but we hatched our first blues and chocolates in addition this time!!

From what I have reserched, if I have a Choc female x Black drake, the female offspring should be black and the drake ofsrping should be Choc. Is this correct?

Also, would the same thing happen with a Blue female x Black drake??

Thanks!!!

No!

Chocolate is recessive and sexlinked. So a choc drake over a black female would give choc daughters and black males.
A black drake over a choc female would give black offspring only (if the drake wasn't split for chocolate).

Blue is incomplete dominant and not sexlinked.
Black male over Blue female gives 50% blue 50% black.
Blue male over Black female gives the same.

OK, thanks for the help.

We had a black drake x choc female hatch out blacks AND chocs, so the drake has to be split for choc?

I knew I should have just stuck with the black...so much easier to understand
