Duck swimming water

Hey there. I’ve got 2 3 week old Indian runners living inside at the moment but spend all day in there run We have dug a huge bath tub in for them and they love it but wondering how often I should empty and clean out It is not there only source of drinking water any advice would be great

We have adult ducks so they dirty the water pretty quickly. We drain the pool into the garden a couple times a week and refill.

How many gallons is it? Definitely stick to what Agnes says - a few times a week at least, but if it is small like a concrete mixing tub you'll want to do it basically daily.
They poop in there, they drink it, they muddy it up and it goes stagnant and gross in just a couple days. *peee yew*
